How to Change Margins in Google Doc: Step by step guide
To change the margins on Google Docs, you can follow two methods. One method lets you to set margins for the entire document. And another method is used for formatting specific paragraphs. Let’s discuss the first method. So, let’s know how to change margins for Google Doc for the entire document.
For the entire document:
Step1: First, you have to go to the “File” section of the Google Doc page. You can find it at the left upper corner of the page.
Step2: Then, you will find several options below. From there, you have to go to the “page set up” option. A box with the details of the “page set up” will be opened.
Step3: After that, you can fill the blanks in the page set up box with your preferred margin measurements. Select whether you want the page on portrait or landscape. You can alter the “paper size” as well. Different sizes including A4, A5, etc. are available.
Step4: When you select the margin measurements, click on the “set as default” option, if you want to use this margin alignment for future documents as well.
Step5: Finally, click on the “OK” option below the page to save the changes. Thus, you can change margins for the entire document.

How to change margins in Google Doc paragraph wise:
We have already discussed how to set up margins for the whole documents. Now, you can change the margins in Google Doc while editing a particular paragraph. The margin will show up for that paragraph you selected only. So, let’s know how to do it.
First, place the cursor at the beginning of the paragraph for which you want to change the margin. Then, drag the blue downward pointing arrow above the text. You have to drag it from the left to the right direction of the page. This will change the left margin set up for the paragraph.

Similarly, to change the right margin alignment, drag the blue downward arrow at the right upper side of the page.
The margin will be changed for that specific paragraph you placed the cursor on. You can see below how the margin has been changed for the paragraph.
