Based on Beth Reekles’s novel, The Kissing Booth has been one of the hit franchises by Netflix. This popular movie has been favored by people of all ages. Girls went gaga over Elle’s fascination for Noah, and after the release of the first movie, Jacob Elordi soon became the internet’s favourite boyfriend. In a recently released video, Netflix has promised to release new movies every week. Joey King was one of the featured actress in the video, and it has led to a lot of speculations about the third installment of the movie.

The Plot Of The Kissing Booth so far

The movie begins with Elle Evans(Joey King) narrating how she and her best friend Lee(Joel Courtney) grew up together. They were born on the very same day and have been inseparable ever since. They’ve been with each other through thick and thin. They rode their first bikes together, dressed up together. When Elle lost her mom at a young age, Lee’s mother became one of her strongest source of support. However, amidst all this, Elle developed a massive crush on Lee’s older brother Noah(Jacob Elordi).

Unfortunately, while growing up, Elle and Lee developed these set of rules as best friends that they’d to follow at any cost. One of them forbade blood relatives as dating partners. Even Elle thought that Noah was out of her league. He was the school playboy and everyone’s favourite. He was always seen hooking up with some girl or the other. One day, to save Elle’s honour, Noah got into a fight at school. Then, Elle came to know that the reason no guy at school asked Elle out because he forbade it.

Soon, they developed feelings for each other and promised to be together even though Noah left for Harvard.

The Kissing Booth 2

The Kissing booth 2 navigates Elle’s long-distance relationship with Noah. It also tests Elle’s friendship with Lee. He finds it difficult to manage between Elle and Rachel(Meganne Young), his girlfriend. Elle decides to enter a dance competition to earn some money for college. She applied for Harvard without telling Lee. She and Lee had planned to go to Berkley since they were kids.

In search of a dance partner, Elle pairs up with Marco(Taylor Zakhar Perez), the new school hottie. Amidst isolation and the strenuous long-distance relationship and Noah’s shady friendship with Chloe, Elle kisses Marco on the day of the competition. To her surprise, Noah sees it. After a long hustle and bustle, they finally make up. They realise that their relationship turned sour due to lack of communication, but not lack of love. They once again visit the Kissing Booth, the place where it all began. Even though Marco poured his heart out for Elle, she chose Noah. It was always Noah for her.

The Third Movie

The third movie will definitely test Elle’s priority. The second movie showed that Elle was selected for both Harvard and Berkeley. Now, she has to decide whether she’ll choose the love of her life or her best friend. The movie will also show the true depth of her friendship with Lee.

Taylor Zakhar Perez and Maisie Richardson will reprise their roles as Marco and Chloe respectively. It’ll be interesting to see if Elle chooses Marco over Noah. The second movie showed Elle’s conflicting feelings for Marco. Moreover, Elle has to face the consequence of her choice of college. She might end up losing Noah or Lee or both.

The premise of the third movie seems extremely exciting. When the second movie was released, Netflix already announced that the third movie is in post production. It was supposed to release in the first half of this year. However, it might happen sooner than you think. The new Netflix teaser showed a very optimistic Joey King in her upcoming movie, The Kissing Booth 3. The clip also had some glimpses of the upcoming movie.

The second movie highlighted the complications of a long-distance relationship. It also showed that the intricate bonds of friendships could get ruined over little misunderstandings. Maybe it is time for the trio to grow up and grow apart. The movie borders seriously on the theme of the right person at the wrong time.Even though Joey King and Jacob Elordi broke up, they put aside their differences while filming the second and third part. All we can do now is wait for the third movie to release, and hope that it gives a fitting conclusion to this popular franchise.
